Being raised by musicians and having the musical talent to play the piano, it's no surprise that Ramon took to salsa dancing with much enthusiasm. In the summer of 2000 when tricked by his mother to take a class at ENE Salon on 9th Street, is when he was first introduced to the art of salsa dancing. He began taking salsa private classes with Frankie Martinez and soon joined the Abakua Latin Dance Company and performed in his first show shortly after on March 17, 2001 in SUNY Albany. He has been a member of the Abakua Latin Dance Company since 2001. Abakua is a salsa dance company that tours both nationally and internationally.
